LAB-ON-CHIP BASED ON RAYLEIGH SURFACE ACOUSTIC WAVES (R-SAW) FOR MOLECULAR/ONCOLOGICAL ANALYSIS POINT-OF-CARE

 

The patent proposal is a nanostructured LoC based on Rayleigh surface acoustic waves (R-SAW) with an electric read-out. R-SAW represents currently the sole technology allowing both the manipulation of biological samples (e.g., mixing, displacement, heating, separation and cell lysis) and the analysis on the same substrate.

Replication of an entire laboratory analysis process on a small (mm2-cm2) chip, increasing the efficiency of the process by using a smaller volume of reagents while maintaining a high sensitivity.
