Research interests

First principles investigation of electronic and optical properties of solid state materials and molecular assemblies, and modeling catalytic and electrochemical processes on solvated interfaces, using (time dependent) density functional theory, and beyond.
Currently, my activity focuses on the development, testing and application of first principles simulations high-throughput workflows for the study of complex systems (e.g. disordered, polycrystalline, amorphous, etc.), in order to model devices for synaptic electronics and neuromorphic computing, as part of the European project INTERSECT.
