Modena - 24.07.2014 - Hysteretic behaviour in a vacuum deposited submonolayer of single ion magnets
A recent article in Dalton transactions by CnrNano researcher Andrea Candini et al. earned the journal's internal cover. Organic magnetic molecules offer new technological possibilities concerning small and effective data storage devices, since they represent the ultimate limit for the miniaturization of a bit of memory. In this work, we have detected the magnetization of a collection of isolated molecules without the help of any external field. This traditional-magnet-like behavior is an essential prerequisite for their integration in future memory devices.
