- 23.09.2021 - CnrNano participates in the European Researchers’ NightWe're ready! CnrNano responds to the call from the European Commission regarding the Researchers' Night, which this year will take place in 29 countries on Friday 24 September 2021. The European Researchers' Night is a Europe-wide public event, which displays the diversity of science and its impact on citizens' daily lives in fun, inspiring ways. Both units of CnrNano will join the event, contributing to the local initiatives in the city center of Modena and Pisa with presentations and demonstrations, thanks to a number of researchers passionate about outreach. In Modena "Disegnare il futuro dell'elettronica" (via San Geminiano 3, h. 20.00 - 23.00): Claudia Cardoso and Vincenzo Grillo, together with Marco Gibertini from Unimore, will tackle a presentation and a playful experiment dedicated to bidimensional materials, their unique properties and their potential for future electronics. In Pisa, "Il nanomondo dentro di noi" (Largo Ciro Menotti, h 16.00 - 22.00): research groups of Ilaria Tonazzini and of Luana Persano will show how thanks to nanotechnology they can imagine and develop innovative tools for medicine and health, from miniaturized lab-on-chips to release drugs into the brain to implantable devices to improve vital functions. For our researchers and the whole CnrNano institute the European Researchers' Night is a unique opportunity to engage with citizens of all ages to raise awareness about our research and its impact on society. The event in Modena is organised within the Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia Researchers' Night and in collaboration with the following projects, funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme: Q-SORT Grant Agreement no. 766970, MINEON Grant Agreement no. 101035013, SMART-electron Grant Agreement no. 964591, MaX Grant Agreement no. 824143. The event in Pisa is organised within the initiative Bright-Night Toscana and will be attended by a researcher recruited under the MSCA-IF grant BIOIMD (G.A. n. 896811)
