Biographical sketch
Alessandro Lascialfari is associate professor at the University of Milano, where he teaches Physics for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. He teaches Magnetic Resonance Imaging to students (master degree and PhD) in Physics of the University of Pavia since 2003. He has conducted research activity both at the University of Pavia (also CNR INFM), University of Firenze (also INSTM) and abroad (USA, UK, France and Switzerland). He has coauthored more than 130 papers in international journals. He is referee of prestigious international journals (e.g. Physical Review B and Physical Review Letters). He was in the organizing Committee of International Conferences and has been invited to give more than 40 short and invited talks. He has been engaged in research in the field of Condensed Matter Physics using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Muon Spin Rotation, SQUID, calorimetry, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, AC susceptibility, AFM, as primary techniques of investigation. He has obtained important results in the study of magnetic properties and spin dynamics of HTSC superconductors, nanosized and low dimensional magnetic and superconducting systems, including molecular nanomagnets. He conducted research in magnetic nanoparticles used as MRI contrast agents and collaborated with industries (Bracco SpA, Esaote SpA) in developing MRI protocols and dedicated coils to investigate ostheo-articular diseases.
