Research interests

Ivan Marri research activity is mainly focused on the study of structural, electronic and optical properties of low dimensional semiconductors using ab-initio methods based on the DFT and the MBPT. He is also interested in the development of scientific open source software for the study of quasiparticle and optical excitations and of coulomb driven recombination processes in solids. A list of topics includes:

- Study of Auger Recombination (AR) and Carrier Multiplication (CM) processes in systems of freestanding and interacting NCs.
- Effects induced by NCs interplay on AR and CM dynamics.
- Study of electronic and optical properties of TiO2 nanosystems.
- Study of electronic and optical properties of Si, Ge and Si/Ge k-dispersive and nanostructured systems.
- Study of anode materials for battery applications.
- Study of the order parameters in noncentrosymmetric crystals.
