A work result of an international collaboration between CnrNano, Fritz-Haber-Institut (MPG, Berlin) and CNRS - Université Pierre et Marie Curie-Paris 6(Paris) has been published with backcover on Adv. Func. Materials. The work has identified a physical route to self-organize Fe nanoparticles on oxide in an ordered network with high spatial uniformity. The coincidence lattice formed between a Mo(001) surface and a MgO thin film is used to drive the particle nucleation by means of modulations in the electronic and structural properties of the oxide layer across the coincidence cell. The work helps the comprehension of interfacial interactions and bottom-up assembly mechanisms for materials of possible future applications in storage devices and heterogeneous catalysis.
